The Law Offices of Frederick W. Nessler & Associates, LTD. has an opening for a hardworking, highly motivated team player who has Litigation Paralegal experience to join our firm in Springfield, Illinois.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of legal procedures and terminology related to litigation. The Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys to assist in all phases of the litigation process.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
- Conduct legal research using various online resources and databases
- Manage and organize case files and documents, including indexing and preparing exhibits for trial
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial notebooks and exhibits
- Maintain communication with clients to provide case updates and gather necessary information
- Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts, including e-filing when applicable
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing attorney calendars
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate-preferred but not required
- Minimum of [1] year of experience working as a litigation paralegal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work product
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems and e-discovery processes

Pay: $40,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year
